Abstract: This fourth volume shows a different side to Alfred de Vigny: a public man of action by day, with the first academic campaigns and defence of literary property, and a poet by night, drafting La Maison du Berger while the great poems La Sauvage, La Flûte, and La Mort du Loup were published.
