. Comparative Literature and European Cultures / Littérature comparée et cultures européennes
  • Author: Dethurens (Pascal)
  • Abstract: The relations between Comparative Literature, European literature and World Literature give rise to controversy. Eurocentrism has fortunately disappeared, but Euroscepticism, that identifies an antagonism between Europe and the rest of the world, remains. However, the concept of World Literature is of European origin and the contemporary period is experiencing a globalization of literature, locating European literature not against but alongside other literatures.
