Abstract: This article deals with a reading of “La rue Soufflot. Romance”, a poem by Valery Larbaud that was his contribution to Éventail (1922), a collective tribute to Laurencin by ten writers, all of them illustrated by the painter. In this text, which will be reprinted at the end of Jaune bleu blanc in 1927, Larbaud proposes a subtle mix of portrait (of the dedicatee) and self-portrait (of the author).
