Delphine Viellard, « Introduction générale » et « Correspondance Marie Laurencin / Valery Larbaud »
Les lettres écrites par Marie Laurencin à Valery Larbaud sont la première correspondance intégrale publiée de la peintre. On y voit comment Marie Laurencin entreprend de séduire Larbaud. Adoptant tour à tour la posture de la femme mélancolique et souffrante et celle de l’actrice du milieu littéraire, elle offre les deux facettes de sa personnalité.

Delphine Viellard, “General Introduction” and “Correspondence Marie Laurencin / Valery Larbaud”
Marie Laurencin ’ s letters to Valery Larbaud were the painter ’ s first published complete correspondence. It shows how Marie Laurencin undertakes to seduce Larbaud. Adopting in turn the posture of the melancholic, suffering woman and actress of the literary milieu, she offers the two facets of her personality.

On propose dans cet article une lecture de « La Rue Soufflot. Romance », un poème de Larbaud inclus dans Éventail (1922), volume collectif réunissant dix écrivains illustrés par Marie Laurencin. Dans ce texte, que Larbaud reprendra à la fin de Jaune bleu blanc, en 1927, l’auteur trouve un subtil équilibre entre portrait (de la dédicataire) et autoportrait (de l’auteur).

This article deals with a reading of “La Rue Soufflot. Romance”, a poem by Valery Larbaud that was his contribution to Éventail (1922), a collective tribute to Laurencin by ten writers, all of them illustrated by the painter. In this text, which will be reprinted at the end of Jaune bleu blanc in 1927, Larbaud proposes a subtle mix of portrait (of the dedicatee) and self-portrait (of the author).

Artiste-peintre, graveuse et illustratrice, Marie Laurencin a établi un réseau dense de relations dans la première moitié du xxe siècle. Notre article est la rédaction d’un ABCdaire évoquant les liens intellectuels existant entre les personnalités citées dans la correspondance échangée entre Valery Larbaud et Marie Laurencin elle-même. Au fil des entrées de l’ABCdaire, nous essayerons de tracer pour chaque thématique les grandes lignes créatives qui ont déterminé le parcours de la femme artiste, à qui nous consacrerons une place centrale.

Elisa Borghino, “Marie Laurencin and Valery Larbaud, the ABC of correspondence”
Painter, engraver and illustrator, Marie Laurencin established a thick network of relations in the first half of the 20th century. Our article focuses on the writing of a primer evoking the existing intellectual connections between the personalities quoted in the correspondence between Valery Larbaud and Marie Laurencin herself. Throughout the entries in the primer, we will try to trace for each theme the main creative lines that have crisscrossed the career of the woman artist, to whom we will give a central role.
