The foreword presents the contents of this issue. This year’s bulletin isn’t a research bulletin around Larbaud’s works and style, but it reveals unpublished works by two former presidents of Larbaud’s Friends Society the Society wants to pay homage to: Michel Deon and Roger Grenier.

Ces pages couvrent le mois de février 1999 où nous suivons l’écrivain dans sa vie littéraire parisienne : rencontres avec d’autres écrivains, séance à l’Académie française…, puis son retour chez lui dans la campagne irlandaise à Tynagh, comté de Galway en Irlande.

Michel Déon, “Journal pages 1999”

These pages go from the beginning to the end of February 1999. We go along with Michel Déon to meetings with other writers, a session at the Académie française, then to Ireland when he returns home at Tynagh, in the County of Galway, Eire.

Roger Grenier, « Les Deux Rives. Souvenirs littéraires (extraits) »

L’écrivain évoque des rencontres, des anecdotes, brosse de rapides portraits de personnalités du monde culturel et littéraire parisien, du début de sa carrière, dans les années 30, jusqu’à la fin du xxe siècle.

Roger Grenier, “Les Deux Rives. Souvenirs littéraires (extracts)”

The writer evokes anecdotes and meetings with well-known Parisian literary and cultural figures ; also he makes quick sketches of some of them. They start in his early career, in the 1930’s, and carry on to the end of the twentieth century.
