Abstract: This special issue of Cahiers staëliens 73 is driven by the idea that Staël did not only defend philosophy as a “power of our being”, an essential resource that makes possible the elevation of the human soul, but also endeavored in her works to contribute substantially, and in various ways, to philosophical progress.
