Abstract: Examining Mirbeau's correspondence with women, this study proposes a classification which reflects the frequency of the exchanges, their professional or friendly character, and Mirbeau's commitment to these relationships which are more frequent and often deeper than the one might suspect, knowing the misogynistic statements of the writer.
