  • Abstract: The adaptation of Diary of a chambermaid made by Buñuel is a singular work. Nevertheless, reconciliations can be made with the novel, which signal an intimacy between the two artists. Both, with the tools of their own, command us to see beyond appearances and we discover a humanity in touch with the desire and anguish of death. They paint a universe in which, it seems, there is no escape
