Abstract: Invaded in the past for territorial, economic, or geostrategic reasons, Belgium resisted in 1914 in the name of an understandable neutrality and desire for internal peace. The concepts of neutrality, nation, and homeland can therefore be intertwined. Several texts have developed these concepts and can be seen as hypotexts to Dumur’s work.
