. Vivre au Mercure de France
  • Author: Pfister (Pascal)
  • Abstract: At the beginning of the 20th Century, Mercure de France editions have published an article and two John Ruskin translations, by Marcel Proust. Proust will then solicit Alfred Vallette, the director of the publishing house, for other collaborations, but without success. The 1920s saw the Nouvelle Revue Française gradually supplant the Mercure de France, in which one could read both very harsh reviews of the works of Proust, but also original analyses, such as those of René Rousseau and Raphaël Cor.
