  • Abstract: Nelly Kaplan, who sometimes wrote under the name of Belen, left her native Argentina for the Paris of the surrealists. There she met Philippe Soupault and André Breton, who were astonished by her detailed knowledge of Les Chants de Maldoror. This article examines the reminiscences that pervade her novels.
