  • Abstract: Between 1974 and 1978, La Nouvelle République des Pyrénées, Tarbes’ local newspaper, published articles devoted to the author of Les Chants de Maldoror, Isidore Ducasse. This local press had opened its columns in 1923 and 1948 to the journalist François Alicot, the key contributor in the biographical research on the poet. Thirty years later, with these fifteen or so articles, we bear direct witness to the earliest discoveries of Isidore Ducasse’s future biographer, Jean-Jacques Lefrère.
