Abstract: The articles in this volume come from the seminar Locus, organized at the Laboratoire de Médiévistique Occidentale de Paris (UMR 8589-CNRS-Université Paris 1) since 2017. After a focus on the historiography of medieval spatiality, particularly in France, this introduction highlights the diversity of the meaning and interpretation of the word « locus » in medieval sources.
