  • Abstract: The article establishes a parallel between the French Renaissance and the contemporary period in terms of climatic anxiety. Employing the figure of inclination, the article identifies several commonplaces of collective engagement with an environment in crisis in both ages and imagines other possibilities of collective rituals to face climate change.
