Abstract: The Wars of Religion saw an unprecedented outpouring of polemical material in France. Religious and political issues were expressed through pamphlets that transformed the publishing landscape. This article examines how the events and polemics of the early 1560s allowed new typographical centres to emerge at the expense of the traditional places. It also analyses how the form and codes of the book changed during these years.
