Abstract: A new desattribution/reattribution: Les Complaintes et Gemissemens de la France by Louis de Chesne-Verd, printed in 1586 after their author’s death, should be given back to Clovis Hesteau de Nuysement, who had them published 8 years before in his own Poetic Works. But the manuscript had obviously been around in the circle of their common patron François d’Alençon, the new Duke of Anjou.
