Abstract: The identification of short titles of manuscripts in catalogs or inventories around 1500 is sometimes based on an abusive interpretation. Focusing on literal reading, keeping in mind the common culture of the time and historical events, allows us to re-examine the dating and attribution of the handwritten Tours list issued from the Français 2912, i. e. a list of manuscripts that would have belonged to Jacques de Beaune, who died in 1527.
