Abstract: The Supplementum Asiaticum by the Franciscan Grifon of Flanders († 1475) presents a geographical description of Asia combined with the dynastic history, recent political history and religious situation of each region, based on Arabic texts and maps, among others. The original combination of geography and history is intended to destroy the misconceptions that circulate in the West about Eastern Christianity and Muslim sovereignties, in order to facilitate the mission.
