  • Abstract: Demonology plays a central role in Nicolau Eymeric’s works as well as in his actions as an inquisitor of the faith. The reflections formulated in his 1359 treatise Contra christianos demones invocantes, later integrated in his 1376 Directorium inquisitorum, had also their judicial counterpart during his controversial inquisitorial career, therefore contributing to the processes of diabolisation of heresy and heretisation of magic.
