  • Abstract: The question of memory and dynastic consciousness in the Capetian family has been the subject of renewed attention in recent years, without yet focusing on the Queen of France Margaret of Provence (1221–1295). However, her pious foundation works and her donations, as well as the mystery surrounding her last will and testament—her will has disappeared—have the merit of raising interesting reflections, especially on the choice of her burial place.
