Abstract: This introduction outlines the last fifteen years of research on the sources of rewritings of Ovid from the twelfth to the fifteenth century: editions of medieval commentaries on the Metamorphoses and the Heroides, as well as analyses of the Latin models for vernacular translations. The 2018 event “Ovide dans la Romania médiévale” focused on Latin commentaries and translations into langue d’oïl, Castilian, Catalan, and Italian (thirteenth–fifteenth century). This special report presents the proceedings.
