Abstract: Studies on the poet François de Sagon tend to focus on his literary quarrel with Clément Marot. Uncertainties remain as for the scope of his own works and about the man himself, who is only known through the few indications he spread through his poems. Taking some distance from the prejudices the quarrel bequeathed, this first approach seeks to profile a poetical and intellectual network by way of analysis of the poet’s networks of protectors.
