  • Abstract: In the texts of ritual magic that have come down to us from the Middle Ages are sometimes mentioned songs and other music from the Christian liturgy. The items of Gregorian repertoire most often mentioned are the Asperges me, the Ave Maria, the Credo, the Salve Regina, as well as certain psalms. It is crucial to assess how these chants are used, in particular within the framework of consecration rituals.
