  • Abstract: In order to gain the attention of young king Louis XIII, François de Rosset, translator and author, transposed in French Boiardo’s Orlando innamorato. Rosset’s translation respects the Italian original text, but he introduces in it several personal commentaries (glosses, exhortations to his royal recipient) which reveals a different way to conceive humanistic culture, in particular as this one was represented in Ferrara by Guarino.
