Abstract: What style of writing should be used to recount the experience of “no longer being able to think”? How can we capture the impossible instability that emerges when thought is altered by mescaline? Between writing and drawing, the handwritten pages of what Michaux calls "the primordial text" in Misérable Miracle can give us an insight. These pages reflect the risk-taking not only of Michaux but also of his writing, which is challenged by its illegibility.
