Abstract: Prayer, which occupies an essential place in Bauchau's diary, is intimately linked both to poetic inspiration – through a state of receptivity to interior dictation – and to diaristic writing, repeated day after day as are the gestures of prayer. This non-confessional prayer, close to praise or magnificat, then takes the form of contemplative notations where precarious inspiration and attention to everyday life, to pure presence in the world, come together.
