Abstract: This research analyzes the evolution in the treatment of the vocabulary of masonry and carpentry in the two last editions of the Spanish dictionary of the Real Academia Española in the 19th century (DRAE 1884 and DRAE 1899). The corpus is studied from several perspectives with a view to obtaining a clear picture of lexicographical practice at the end of the 19th century. The results show that in the two editions there are significant changes beyond the increase in entries.
