Abstract: In this study, discourses on climate change and the Covid-19 epidemic in German language media will be compared. We will first of all analyze how the media deal with these topics before turning to the lexical creativity it generates. It will be shown that the semantic evolution of the terms Klima(wandel) and Corona(virus) is largely similar. Finally, we will present selected compounds with Klima or Corona and the main metaphorical domains to which they belong.
