Abstract: The “Etymology and History” notes accompanying the articles of the TLF informatisé (TLFi) are sufficiently regular to consider standardizing those of a substantial number of presently polysemous lexical items. The paper offers a method for extracting from each record a set of data on expansions and contractions of the polysemy of the item concerned and for developing a tool for visualizing these fluctuations in the form of a dynamic tree graph.
