Abstract: The creation of proper names in works of fiction is an important factor in neological creation. The choice of a fictional proper name owes nothing to chance and may depend on the genre and the author’s intention. The translator will endeavour to respect this intention in order to find an adequate translation. We address the questions of the existence and the creation of proper names within the fictional universe that constitutes their framework in order to lead to translation trends.
