Abstract: The Les Pardaillan cycle by Michel Zévaco shares with Alexandre Dumas’s work a model of novelistic composition. But while the Dumasian novel includes an interpretation of history, the Les Pardaillan cycle, influenced by the anarchist sensibility of Michel Zévaco, relegates history to the background in favor of an epic and allegorical narrative.
