Abstract: Mr. Éric Ruf, general administrator of the Comédie-Française, looks back on the experience of reading the Soulier de satin. A happy encounter takes place between the Claudelian project of theatre in its nascent state and this theatre at the table invented during the pandemic. This plural reading presents the journey of the character of Rodrigue as a fresco that unfolds over the entire duration of a human life by deploying the concrete, poetic images and humour at work in Claudel's theatre.
