Abstract: From November 1939 to November 1942, then again from November 1944 to May 1945, Claudel published numerous articles in Le Figaro. In the wake of the declaration of war, he condemned the German aggression. His « Paroles au Maréchal » written in 1940 was matched in 1944 by the ode « to Genéral de Gaulle ». Several texts, extraneous to the concerns of the time, dealt with painting, poetry, drama, diplomacy as a profession and with economic issues.
