Abstract: The private correspondence between Alexis Leger and Paul Claudel, gathered for the first time in this edition, is published in its entirety, i.e. without the cuts that Alexis Leger made when he published his letters to Claudel in La Pléiade (1972). The cross-exchange and the restoration of the truncated parts show the complexity of a relationship which, from time to time, oscillates between distance and affectionate friendship. Claudel is probably more sincere.
