Abstract: Famous singer and reciter Claire Croiza (1882-1946) had special ties with some poets including Paul Valéry and Paul Claudel. A exemplary interpreter of Milhaud’s Choéphores, she regularly met Claudel at conferences or concerts. The letters he sent her testify to their growing relationship which culminated in the organization in 1939 of a recital devoted to both Verlaine and Claudel, where both Croiza and Louise Vetch were the interpreters.
