Abstract: This study tries to analyse the importance of the first war in the claudelian diplomatic texts from the United-States. It’s through the memory of 1914-1918 that materializes in Claudel thought the importance of the project which will be born during his stay in Washington from 1927 to 1932 to put an end to the war, his participation in the elaboration of the Briand-Kellogg plan and in the birth of the Nations Society.
