Abstract: The purpose of this article is to analyse the expression « Me voici », ushering first Paul Claudel’s important drama, Tête d’Or. This french formula refers to different meanings : to answer to our vocation, to commit oneself, promise, consent or testify. This term also contributes to our understanding of theatrical presence and shows how playwriting provided to Claudel an ideal medium to express his inner drama and share this one with others
