. Montaigne en Asie de l'Est Hommage à Michiko Ishigami-Iagolnitzer
  • Author: Gao (Ji)
  • Abstract: By analyzing translations, articles and books published in recent years, this article suggests that Montaigne has had three faces in contemporary China (since 1978): that of an essayist, that of a thinker and that of a master of well-being. The first two faces are mainly aimed at researchers, while the last one is aimed at the general public. This analysis enables us to better understand the mechanism and characteristics of a transcultural reading of Montaigne.
