Abstract: The aim is to celebrate Alain Legros' critical virtuosity by extending the reflection he has led on the encounter between “Jeu de paume” and philosophy in Mon-taigne’Essais. The translation of the Pyrrhonian epochè by "je soustiens" corresponds to the attitude of the player positioning himself to receive the ball, whether it be that of the game or that of human speech.
