Abstract: Some pages from the « Apology for Raymond Sebond » and the last chapter of the Essays suggest that Montaigne conceive the experience of scepticism (i.e. both the experience we have of scepticism and the experience that scepticism still allows us to have) through the concept of reformation. In this respect, in the pages on sickness and body’s health in the chapter « On experience », Montaigne describes also indirectly the health of a mind which has reformed itself.
