Abstract: This article inquires, as an overview, three sharp and original comprehensions of the « Apology for Raymond Sebond »’s plot. It reviews the problem of the compatibility between the pyrrhonic suspension of the judgement and the Christian’s faith, that is, the problem of the skeptical fideism usually assigned to that chapter of the Essays. The exam of the last label’s possible justifications suggests some considerations – doubtful and irresolute – about this chapter’s statute.
