Abstract: In her autobiography, her conversations, and speeches, largely unpublished previously, Angélique Arnauld (1591-1661) reveals her stature as the reforming abbess of Port-Royal: devoted to a fundamental Augustinianism, she gives voice to her adherence to penitence as the single path to salvation.
