Abstract: Examining Elizabethan translations provides us with insights into modalities of presentation, the choices of texts translated, and the links established between translated texts and prologues in the form of dedications. These bring useful arguments to the discussion – still open – about the principles and intentions animating the translations of Marie de France and certain other authors at the time of Henry II of England.
