Abstract: Destroyed by terrorists, rebuilt in Le Lambeau, is Philippe Lançon’s face also Levinas’ ethical face? This is this article’s contention — but, paradoxically, inasmuch as Levinas’ anti-terrorism combines an « terrifying model of ethics » (Z. Zalloua) and a « terrorism of the word » (P. Ricœur) through a dialogue with Hegel and Heidegger that revolves around terrorism’ two constitutive elements: fear and destruction.
