Amandine Gouttefarde, “Is the Soul Exiled into the Body? Reflections on the Origin of a Neoplatonic Belief”
We can often read that, for Plato, the soul is exiled in the body. By looking at the concepts of soul and exile in Plato, one can see that this is wrong. Certain neoplatonic thinkers attributed this assertion a posteriori to Plato, in the light of their rereading of older texts. It was through them that this claim was wrongly anchored in our philosophical imagination.
Keywords: soul, exile, metempsychosis, Greek philosophy, Greek literature.
Franck Colotte, “The Metamorphoses of Apuleius, a Quest for the Soul through Laughter”
The Metamorphoses of Apuleius is a picaresque, erotic-comic novel narrating the tribulations of the young Lucius, transformed into a donkey following errors of magic. This text is a celebration of laughter as it contains scenes and comic characters. So, based on the Platonic theories of the soul, Apuleius engages both his character and his reader in a dialectical process aimed at making his soul more virtuous, a sine qua non condition for his ontological metamorphosis.
Keywords: laugh, conflicts, Psyche, Plato, metamorphosis.
Odette Barbero, “The Soul. Fixed Point between Cogito, Spirit and Will”
Defining soul only by the concept of mind or mens, Descartes breaks with the philosophy of Aristotle and his hylomorphic conception of the soul and its various functions. But, on the one hand, what are the relations between this definition derived from mind’s perception and the “I” of cogito or the self which characterize the connection mind/body? Still, on the other hand, in the absence of a mind in the animal, Descartes agrees to animal’s body sensation and perfection.
Keywords: mind, mens, cogito, will, spiritual emotions, Aristotle.
Ian Grivel, “Psyché, or the Human Soul. Origins, Representations and Interpretations”
Psyche seems to be a fairly well known mythological character, not only as Cupid’s wife, but especially as a symbol of the human soul. However, her origins remain obscure, and the interpretations attached to her are numerous and of a great variety. Through this literary, mythological, philosophical, ethnological and psychoanalytical study, Psyche is shown to have metamorphosed throughout the centuries to become an important figure of western culture.
Keywords: psyche, myth, soul, interpretations, representations.

Jean Gabriel Cosculluela, « Sauf, l’oubli (Pas d’oubli, 3) »
Jean Gabriel Cosculluela, “Unless, Forgotten (No Forgetting, 3)”
Between the oblivion already come and the oblivion that comes, there is the vertigo of memory. We end up losing their voices, without losing their face. The oblivion ends 243by becoming habitable. We do not close the eye of oblivion, it is the unheard language of us. Until then, we said to ourselves, the oblivion is perhaps the moment to unfold again the world of one of us, without delay.
Keywords: we, vertigo, oblivion, unheard of us, world to unfold.
Thierry Renard, “This Day So Far Away from Day”
It is always the same fire and always the same fatigue. All the talk was in vain, the idea of future remains precarious. The hope inside everyone is determined and easily altered. It is the same with life, with the wind, with the light of day and the star dust in the beautiful middle of the night.
Keywords: dawn, night, word, silence, face.

For the author, the poetry is a mode of experimenting, a kaleidoscopic and polyglot texture, a linguistic game comprising the absurd, the parody, the humour, the ambiguity and the paradox.
