Abstract: Gregoire of Narek depicts the sin that haunts human beings as continual reactivations of the original sin. Using a lot of poetical processes, evoking the situation of the sinner in a deadly face-to-face with the sin, the author lets also hear the aspiration to rise to God and Christ as Word made flesh. Poetry, as creation of the Word, enables the transmutation of the fault by divine grace, thus opening the prospect of a return to the Creator.
