Abstract: A major figure in the cultural life of the last quarter of the sixteenth century, Claude-Catherine de Clermont hosted a salon that brought together the finest minds of the time, for whom she was both muse and patron. The poems in this collection allow us to discover the salon’s aesthetic, political, and religious values.
