Abstract: This article will show the musical dimensions of the collection La Puce de Madame des-Roches (1582) and of the context of its origin: the salon of the Dames Des Roches in Poitiers at the end of the 1570s, during the Wars of Religion. After showing Catherine Des Roches’s interest in music, it will analyze poems by Estienne Pasquier and Odet de Turnèbe that illustrate the musical qualities of La Puce.
