Abstract: Written in 1948, in the aftermath of the Second World War, “L’Exil d’Hélène” presents beauty as an anthropological value on the basis of which to rebuild Man who has been disfigured by the chaos of history. This article aims to clarify the genesis of the text, the philosophical ideas it highlights, but also its aesthetic implications.
