Abstract:Les Soleils des Indépendances constitutes the matrix of Kourouma’s commitment in so far as it contains, potentially, the will for a poetic renewal and for political change. Besides, this novel shows a real concern for writing and reconstructing a francophone African literary discourse. The novel testifies to a willingness to promote new ways of writing and demonstrates an effort of research on the formal side, a dream of cohesion to avoid breakup and chaos.
